Tuscan Farmhouse - Famiglia Lucchetti-Francesconi

Built in the early 18th century, this stunning farmhouse was completely renovated in early 2005. This home has been in our family since it was first built and is where my great grandfather and grandfather were born.

The family has decided to make this exquisite property available for vacation rental on a limited basis.

Casa Sottomonte is three miles from the walled city of Lucca in the heart of Tuscany, close to Pisa, Cinque Terre, Florence and many other historic places. Also nearby are Nottolini aqueduct and some of the most beautiful walking trails in all of Tuscany.

Rome and Venice are great 'Day' trips accessible by train.

The Lucchetti Family Invites you enjoy this charming farmhouse in one of Italy's most peaceful and beautiful regions...Tuscany!

What has been said about the Lucchetti Family Farmhouse -

Our trip to Italy was magical, and we are still talking about it. It occasionally happens that we are brought somewhere by a friend or an acquaintance who knows a particular place well, can relate details about its history while at the same time communicating his love for what he's talking about. This is exactly what happened to my daughter and me upon renting the farmhouse from the Lucchetti family. The result was a genuine impact with the Tuscan countryside, a familiarity with the persons encountered (especially the Lucchetti family here, as well as in Italy), and a sense of excitement generated by all the beauty contemplated.

The close proximity of the farmhouse not only afforded us the ease of driving to Lucca, Pisa, Florence and Cinque Terre, but the train (only 8 minutes away in Lucca) took us to Rome for a 3 day adventure and a 2 day excursion in Venice. The feelings and impressions we experienced during our stay in the Lucchetti Farmhouse have been revived over and over again.  The accommodations were tastefully decorated and everything was spotless. My daughter and I were honored to be their very first renters. Our senses were treated to such delights as the tartness of the homemade Lemoncello to the aromas of the traditional pot-pourri made with herbs and flowers from the hills of Florence. Thanks again to the Lucchetti's knowledge, we experienced one of the oldest pharmacies in the world. The outside was so unassuming we surely would have passed it by. Once inside the Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella in Florence, we were spellbound. The Farmhouse is a real find; and the family is a wealth of information.

The location enhanced the flavor of Tuscany and would satisfy even the most discerning visitor.  I plan to return next year; the magic goes on and on.
