FAQ's

1. How do I reserve the house?
    Simply visit our 'Rates and Contact' for contact and rental information.

2. How long in advance should I be reserving the house?
    Although there is no set time line, it is recommended that you try to book as soon as possible, as
the weeks fill up rather fast.

3. How much is the deposit and when is it paid?
The first deposit is 20% of the total cost and is to be paid at the time of booking.  
        With this deposit
 the house will be held in your name. The second deposit of 50% is due 60 days before your arrival.
The deposit amounts are non-refundable.

 4. How is the final payment made and to who? 
The final payment is due 30 days before your arrival here in beautiful Tuscany. It is to be paid by cash or check to the             American owners.

 5. How long is the normal rental period?
Weekly, Saturday to Saturday

 6. At what time can we check in and out?
Check in after 3pm and check out by 11 am.

7. Is there a cleaning deposit?
No, However we ask that you treat our home like your own.

8. Is the price per week?
Yes

9. Is heating included in the price?
Yes

10. How do I get directions to the house?
A map will be included in the rental documents. Also, you can go to Mappy.com, Italy’s version
of MapQuest.

If you wish to be picked up at the airport, please go to #18.

11. Who will meet me at the house and what can I expect upon arrival?
Our Italian family, Nanda and Cesare Francesconi will meet you directly at the house.
They speak some English and will answer
 any questions you may have and give you general
direction for use of the house. You can also take the opportunity to inquire 
about restaurants
and supermarkets.

 12. Are linens and towels provided?
Yes, and as mentioned there is a washer and dryer for your convenience.

 13. Is smoking allowed in the house?
No smoking is allowed anywhere in the house.

 14. Is there a TV in the house?
Yes, one in the kitchen and one in the family room. Both are satellite with international English
channels. There is also a DVD
 player and movies in the family room.

 15. Is there a telephone in the house?
No, however a cell phone is provided for you during your stay. Emergency and contact numbers
are programmed in the phone
 for your convenience. We suggest you contact your cell phone
provider in regards to your personal cell phone usage in Italy
 and its availability.

 16. Is there air conditioning in the home?
No, it is really not necessary as the home is made of stone and remains cool inside.

 17. Is there internet in the house?
Not at this time. However, there are many Internet cafe’s throughout the area.

 18. Where can we rent a car?
We suggest calling Autoeurope at 800-223-5555 or visiting autoeurope.com . 

 19. Are there grocery stores or supermarkets nearby?
Yes, local market within 1 mile and major super markets within 4 miles.

 20. How far is Florence, Pisa, and Cinque Terre from the property?
Pisa is 15 miles away, Florence 40 miles, and Cinque Terra 45 miles.

 21. What is the time difference?
Italy is 9 hours ahead of US Pacific Standard Time.

 22. What is the nearest Town?
The city of Lucca is 3 miles.

 23. What is the nearest airport?
Pisa (PSA) 15 miles.

 24. What is the nearest railway station?
Lucca. You can access the Italian train schedules on line at www.trenitalia.com

 25. Who do I call with any concerns or questions after arrival?
A reference book is in the house with all necessary phone numbers.

 26. Can you recommend any travel books on Tuscany?
National Geographic Tuscany or DK Eyewitness Travel Guides on Italy are 2 that we have
used and enjoy.
